The Penang Undersea tunnel contractor Consortium Zenith BUCG had filed an ex-parte interim injunction against Parti Cinta Malaysia (PCM) vice-president Huan Cheng Guan to silence him against voicing out on the project.

In a statement issued today, Huan said he was informed of this matter to him by his lawyer Baljit Singh.

Huan was puzzled on the undersea tunnel contractor’s decision to use the courts to silence him if they have nothing to hide.

“I am speaking on behalf of Penangites and this is a matter of public interest.

“The people have the rights to know what is actually happening and also to voice out our concern on the company who is undertaking the tunnel project,” said Huan.

Huan said PCM is a Penang based party and has every right to ask for clarification on what is actually happening.

“If there is no cover up, then why are they afraid?

“We can see from many press conferences that the Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng speaks on behalf of Consortium Zenith BUCG which I have all the video recording and I am now pondering if someone high up ‘there’ giving instruction to Consortium Zenith BUCG to file an injunction to gun me down.

“This legal proceedings against me will not hamper my spirits and silence me,” added Huan.

Huan promised that he believes in freedom of speech and will keep speaking up on behalf of Penangites.

The undersea tunnel contractor filed an interim injunction to prevent the PCM vice-president and Utusan Malaysia to further highlight about the project on Nov 11 in Kuala Lumpur High Court.
