When it comes to double standards, Lim Kit Siang reigns as king!

Daddy Kit Siang practises double standard when it comes to his son, Guan Eng's graft scandal.
Daddy Kit Siang practises double standard when it comes to his son, Guan Eng’s graft scandal.

Totally oblivious to the fact the he reigns supreme at the forefront of double standards, Lim Kit Siang sees the speck in everyone else’s eye and does not see the speck in his own.

Since the very early stages in the 1MDB (1 Malaysia Development Berhad) investigation, Kit Siang has been one of the main voices shouting that Prime Minister Najib Razak should step down from office while an investigation is taking place.

Of course, he like other DAP leaders, Pakatan Harapan and Dr Mahathir Mohamad knew full well that the Prime Minister had nothing to do with misappropriated funds, if there were any in the first place.

Still  Kit Siang wanted to take a high moral position to say that there was corruption at the head of government and as a result the Prime Minister should resign.

Kit Siang continued his calls for the Prime Minister to step down even after the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) determined that there were no links to funds from 1MDB transferred to the personal account of Najib.

Adding credibility to the report is the fact that the DAP’s own Tony Pua Kiam Wee was one of the PAC investigators, who came to the conclusion of the Prime Minister’s non-involvement.

Of course, since signing off on the report, Tony Pua has back tracked on what he had earlier signed off on.

Again, Kit Siang had no trouble during the pre-investigative, the investigative and post investigative processes to state that Prime Minister should not remain in office.

However, (and there must be a however to this) when his son Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said to have acquired property through what is looking to be illegal means, daddy Lim was either silent, saying it was a government plot to divert attention away from 1MDB or hinting that his son is innocent until proven guilty; moreover he suggested that his seed (Guan Eng) should not step down from his post as ‘Menteri Besar’ of Penang.

Strangely enough, Kit Siang does not share the same innocent until proven guilty standard that he has for his son when it came to the Prime Minister.

When it comes to the Prime Minister, both father and son Lim say guilty until proven innocent.

For them, Pakatan Harapan, Mahathir and the other coup plotters, they care nothing about Najib’s innocence; for them the goal has always been for the Prime Minister to be out of office before the next general election, which should be held by 2018 (GE14)!

Some may call it karma as there were calls for Guan Eng to leave his post; the very thing that he and his father were asking the Prime Minister to do.

Guan Eng who had in so many words claimed how his local government was clean, was himself caught having carried out an illegal transaction.

During the early stages after the story broke, he thought he could finagle his way out from the pile of bull manure that he was stuck in by claiming ignorance on land purchase matters as he was not a valuer.

Not being as clever as they once believed, both Lims know that it is just a matter of time before the court provides junior Lim with a new address and ID number.

When that happens, Kit Siang will continue to proclaim his son’s innocence and that it is all a government plot to stifle dissenting voices.

What Kit Siang will not say is that there is more evidence linking his son to illegal activities than anything linking the Prime Minister to 1MDB.

Maybe it is really time for Kit Siang to stop having double standards when it comes to his son Guan Eng … Read More
