Unity is the key for a Barisan Nasional (BN) victory in the next general election (GE14).
MCA deputy president Dr Wee Ka Siong said close cooperation among BN parties was imperative to win seats in GE14, especially in mixed areas like Johor.
He pointed out that Johor had many seats with significant number of Chinese voters even though the seats were being held now by Umno or other parties.
“All components have to stick together and work closely because we need each other to win,” he told newsmen after Johor Baru MCA division meeting on Sunday.
“BN parties should resolve their differences and work collectively to ensure victory in the next general election.”
Dr Wee, who is also Johor MCA chairman, said that Barisan machinery should be synchronised as there should be one template for all, just like preparations based on voting district, be it at the party or divisional level.
He said BN had to be vibrant at divisional level and often conduct programmes involving all races under the coalition umbrella.
“I believe this is a good practice,” he said.
