We lost Penang not because of machinery or unity but because of Umno! That’s the latest scathing remark thrown by Barisan Nasional (BN) state chairman Teng Chang Yeow against its component party.

According to Teng it’s high time to rectify and strengthen the cooperation among the component party within BN rather than re-opening the old wound.

“This is a well-known fact. If we still fail to understand this fact, we will continue to fail!

“Umno machinery under Zahid Hamidi himself as co-director of operation for Permatang Pauh by- election, did not win the Permatang Pauh by elections.

“Zahid should know why we lost Penang. There is no denial that Umno has better election machinery.

“Even their machinery is so good that they are unable to win back Kelantan and Selangor,” said Teng via a statement in a response to Zahid’s remark at Umno Balik Pulau division AGM.

Barisan Nasional lost Penang in 2008 and continuously in 2013 elections.

Lately the deputy prime minister Zahid Hamidi have been attending state Umno division meetings to bolster a stronger and concerted approach to strategise in winning the next general election.
