A mobile app will be launched soon to enable citizens to report a crime incident in real time using smartphones.

Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar said the app would be a volunteer smartphone initiative and an extension of the Rakan Cop  community policing programme

“Smartphone users will be able to report crime with photos or videos via the app.

“The app is in its final stages of development and we expect to launch it soon,” he said today.

Hence, all the citizens need to do now is to snap a picture or record a video of a crime that they had witnessed and send it to the police via the app.
