The formation of Sabah based party will bring about a new political landscape that will drive better economic and development opportunities for its people said Semporna MP Shafie Apdal.
Its high time for ‘land below the wind’ state to have its own strong coalition that will be the voice of Sabah people, Shafie told this to reporters after launching Hari Raya Qurban event at Tawau.
He said this is the first time different leaders hail from east coast, west coast and rural areas of Sabah team up together to form a formidable coalition to face the next general election.
Shafie revealed that he also echoed Penampang MP Darrell Leiking idea to have a Sabah based party that lead the people for a better economic development.
When asked about the new party’s name, Shafie declined to name and will reveal later once Registrar of Society (RoS) has given the approval.
Shafie also said his party will be a multiracial party.
On last Thursday, Shafie accompanied by Leiking submitted their papers to RoS take over an existing Sabah based party.
