Former Umno vice president Shafie Apdal is set to launch a Sabah based political party soon.
The Semporna MP revealed it will consist of former Umno members.
“I already have my own party but yet to launch it.
“We will launch it as soon as possible and waiting for the right time,” said Shafie in a news video posted on Astro Awani site.
He added that his team will study first on the prospect of launching the party and to be more cautious in working together with opposition alliances based on past experiences.
The former rural and regional development minister was suspended by Umno for alleged misconduct on his criticisms of 1 Malaysia Development Berhad.
Subsequently, Shafie announced his resignation on July 4 claiming unfair suspension.
