DAP councillor M Satees has arrived at Bukit Aman police headquarters to give his statement over his Facebook posting, in which he allegedly insulted the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.
Speaking to reporters outside Bukit Aman, he said that the police had called him to give a statement at 3pm.
He arrived at the police headquarters at about 2.40pm.
Earlier today an officer from the Johor state police has informed Satees to give full co-operation to officers in Bukit Aman.
It is understood that Satees would be interrogated by ASP Wan Aidil from Bukit Aman prosecution and legal (D5) division.
Satees is being investigated under Section 4(1) of Sedition Act and Section 233 of Communication and Multimedia Act.
The DAP councillor from Seberang Perai Municipality was accompanied by lawyers Paramjit Singh and Gunamalar.
When asked about the content of posting, Satees declined comment.
A police report was lodged at the Johor Bahru Sentral police station by the state MIC youth wing on Sunday Nov 6.
In his Facebook posting, Satees has “told off” the Johor Sultan that he had no power to stop anyone from taking part in peaceful assembly in Johor.
The Facebook time stamp showed that Satees had posted it at 8.19pm on Thursday Nov 3, 2016.
But Satees has since removed posting after he came under fire from social media users.
