Sarawak Chief Minister Adenan Satem, 72, has died of a heart attack.
Youth And Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin tweeted his condolences to Adenan’s wife and his family.
“Condolences to Puan Sri Jamilah and family and the people of Sarawak over the passing of Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem. Al Fatihah,” Khairy tweeted.
He died at Institut Jantung Negara, Kota Samarahan, Sarawak around 1.20 pm today.
Prime Minister Najib Razak tweeted “Innalillahiwainnailaihirajiun. Sad to hear Adenan Satem died and will visit his mortal body.
In another tweet, PM said “Allahyarham had done a lot for Sarawak and lost a credible leader. My condolence to his family and May his soul blessed. Al-Fatihah.”
Opposition senior leader Lim Kit Siang tweeted “Al-fatihah TS Adenan Satem. Deepest condolences to bereaved family. Malaysia and Sarawak have lost great visionary leader.”
