Spin master Mahathir Mohamad is on his dirty tricks again – spreading fake news.

His latest claim that Malaysia was among top ten most corrupted country in the world has prompted Umno treasurer-general Salleh Said Keruak to ask on who was feeding Mahathir such tales.

He blasted Mahathir for spreading fake news and suggested that someone could be feeding Mahathir with false and unverified information.

Pribumi national chairman Mahathir has claimed recently that Malaysia had been labelled as amongst the ten most corrupt countries in the world.

Salleh pointed out that on January 24, CNBC came out with a report mentioning the ten most corrupt countries in the world as follows – Somalia, South Sudan, North Korea, Syria, Yemen, Sudan, Libya, Afghanistan, Guinea-Bissau and Venezuela.

The New York Times also came out with a virtually similar report on December 9, 2016 as did the Independent UK on January 25, 2017 and Fortune.com on the same day.

Last month, on March 14, 2017, said Salleh CheatSheet came out with the 15 most corrupt countries in the world and “still Malaysia was not on the list”.

Even more interesting is the fact that ranker.com came out with the most corrupt countries list based on Transparency International’s report and “Malaysia was not even on the top 100 list.”

“So where did Mahathir get his facts from? Has someone been feeding him the false news?,” asked Salleh, the federal minister in charge of communications and multimedia.
