The Kuala Lumur Sessions Court today found PKR lawmaker Rafizi Ramli guilty under the Official Secrets Act (OSA) 1972.

The Pandan MP had disclosed contents of a document claimed to be from the AG report on 1MDB, which was classified under the OSA.

Sessions Court judge Zulqarnain Hassan found Rafizi guilty on two charges of possessing and publicly disclosing the contents of a document on March 24 and March 28 this year.

Both offences carry a maximum of seven year jail term, but Rafizi is expected to appeal the decision at the High Court.

Rafizi stands to lose his seat if he is sentenced to at least one year in prison.

The court is currently standing down before a mitigation and sentencing hearing.
