The red shirt organisers along Gurney Drive on Saturday will be investigated under Section 9(5) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.

According to Northeast distirict police chief Meor Faridalatrash told reporters that the organisers did not inform the police prior holding the protest against Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.

The rally which took almost 40 minutes saw around 2,000 motorcyclists going around Gurney drive roundabout honking loudly.

It is understood that the rally organized by Penang Umno was themed as ‘Ride Against Corruption’.

Meor also added that they have identified the individuals who gave speeches and the police will call them to assist further in the investigation.

No arrests were made on that day as they dispersed upon police instruction, said Meor.
