SABAH needs to manage its youth icons better so they can take their skills further and to pursue the government’s development agenda.
According to Bongawan assemblyman Mohamad Alamin, many Sabahan youths have attained an iconic status in various fields but with lack of proper management skills, has not taken them far.
“We give award to our youths who excel in their respective fields every year.
“But awards don’t take them further due to lack of good management skills,” Daily Express reported as he saying in Kota Kinabalu.
He said Sabah may explore this concept along the lines of what Permata Programmes have been trying to accomplish for young Malaysians.
The Permata Programmes, which was the brainchild of Rosmah Mansor, wife of Prime Minister Najib Razak was founded in 2007.
Permata programmes welcomes children and teenagers from every walk of life, with the objective of providing a platform to unleash potentials and sharpen talents in order to accelerate national growth and cultivate a leading generation Malaysia can be proud of.
