To protect the planet Earth … Hotel guests and children lit up 60 tea lights to signify the Earth Hour at Parkroyal Penang Resort.

Parkroyal Penang Resort commemorated Earth Hour with a celebration in-house with hotel guests participating in events to create public awareness on environmental protection.awareness.

Earth Hour is celebrated for just one day worldwide, but Parkroyal observed it for a week.lights were dimmed or switched off for an hour every night for a week from March 22 to 29, 2017.

The resort lights were dimmed or switched off for an hour every night from March 22 to 29, 2017.

Guests were encouraged to show their support by minimising the use of lighting and energy and reduce the change of towels and bed linens in their rooms.

For the Earth Hour-related activities, the children at the Koko-Nut Kids Klub made lanterns and reflective mask stickers.

During the session, the kids learned to turn one litre used mineral water bottle into a lantern.

The recycled bottles were cut into a design flower and were decorated with beads.

Chopsticks were used for the lantern’s handle.

In the evening, hotel guests and associates joined in the night walk parade to light about 60 tea lights at the garden.

Parkroyal Penang Resort has been supporting this worldwide movement organised by World Wide Fund for Nature for the past nine years.

The resort hopes to continue to create awareness among the local community to protect the planet Earth.
