MIC treasurer general S.Vell Paari has asked the new opposition pact to reveal their Prime Minister candidate if they were to capture Putrajaya in the next general election.

Following the joining of Pribumi in Pakatan Harapan, Vell Paari issued a statement today, questioned whether Pribumi chairman Muhyiddin Yassin, former Kedah Menteri Besar Mukhriz Mahathir or jailed former de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim will be the preferred nominees.

“I am sure that until today they can’t even confirm who will be their Prime Minister candidate because everybody in that pact is fighting for position.

“In Barisan Nasional, we do not have this problem as everybody is solid as a team and will go into election as one team, with under the leadership of Prime Minister Najib Razak.” said Vell Paari.

Pakatan Harapan, comprising of DAP, PKR and Amanah now have formed a new electoral pact with Pribumi to ensure one-on-one fights against BN in the next election.

He highlighted that there has been numerous pacts, alliances created by opposition before this since 1998 till today with various names.

However, ironically these opposition component parties when there is an election around the corner, they will decide to work together but after elections they will then break up again and start to fight one another.

“This clearly shows that the opposition aim in forming political pacts is only to “play politics” and not to work for the betterment of the rakyat.

“What is more surprising is that Pakatan Harapan is now working with a party that is chaired by Mahathir Mohamad, a leader that he despised previously.

“Lim Kit Siang once famously called Mahathir an undemocratic leader and a liar but now they are working together to safe their family political dynasties.” he added.

He advised the opposition leaders to learn from BN on the spirit of working in a coaltion.

“We do not change our coalition in every election.

“BN has been a coalition for 43 years with 13 component parties and still standing strong with the support of the people.” he stressed.
