Sacked Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin has submitted registration papers for newly formed Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) at the Registrar of Societies (ROS) here in Putrajaya.

Muhyiddin said the new party will defend the rights of all Malaysians, opens its membership to all Bumiputras, orang Asli, Sabahans and Sarawakians.

However, non bumiputras can only be associate members and cannot contest for any party posts but could be appointed instead revealed Muhyiddin.

He added that the new party will uphold justice and fight for the rights of the people pushing for institutional reforms and a clean government.

It is also understood that Muhyiddin have spoken to Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on the party registration matter and hopes the application would be approved.
