KUALA LUMPUR: Mr Bean made an appearance in Sarawak?
At first glance, it can be said that the world-famous character, made popular by British thespian and stand-up comic Rowan Atkinson, appeared at a school in Miri.
However, based on videos shared on Facebook, the person spotted entertaining the school children was a Mr Bean impersonator, one Faiket Luari.
Emulating the character almost perfectly, complete with Mr Teddy in hand, Faiket thrilled the kids with his Mr Bean antiques.
A video of his appearance, shared by Facebook page Matu Daro Samah T3lo Debey, to date recorded more than 750,000 views.
Faiket himself shared the video yesterday and expressed disbelief that it has recorded more than 680,000 views.
“Just saw this video post and I am still…not sure…about the views…more than 680,000??? Thank you!” he posted on Facebook.
Faiket described himself as a CEO at www.fivecatproductions.com and a Mr Bean impersonator on his Facebook page.
According to The Borneo Post in an article earlier this week, Faiket entertained some 1,000 pupils and teachers of SK Sri Mawar and SJK Chung San in Miri.
It was reported that Faiket’s appearance was organised by the Sarawak Convention Bureau in collaboration with the Miri City Council, with the support of non-governmental organisations (NGO) The Giving Bank and Minda Travel.
The Borneo Post said the event was part of efforts to promote Miri as a Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) destination.
Faiket was born in Albania and currently resides in Malaysia.
Facebook page My Mukah also shared a video of Faiket, and to date has been viewed more than 110,000 times. – MO
