PUTRAJAYA: The MH370 Investigating Team which is evaluating the photograph of the splinter found in the Seychelles recently has confirmed that the splinter was not from the Boeing 777 or the Rolls Royce engine.
The Director-General of the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA), Datuk Seri Azharuddin Abdul Rahman in his statement said, the DCA had contacted the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) to obtain detailed information following the report that said the splinter was believed to belong to the Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 found by the Seychelles authorities.
“The SCAA has shared the information and photograph of the splinter and the DCA thanks its colleagues in the SCAA who had provided the cooperation,”he said.
In a statement earlier, the SCAA had said that scientists carrying out research on birds and turtles had found two splinters believed to belong to the Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 that had crashed in Farqhar.
The airline had disappeared from the radar screen while on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on March 8, 2014 together with 239 passengers and crew members. –Bernama
