MCA to double efforts win back seats in GE14

MCA will double efforts to help its candidates win back all seats lost to Opposition in the next general election.

In order to wrest back the seats, MCA deputy president Wee Ka Siong revealed that national and local issues close to the people should be given a serious attention.

He said the party wanted to reclaim the parliamentary and state seats that it had lost to the Opposition.

“We have to double our efforts to ensure our candidates win and the seats come back to us.

“My advice to party candidates doesn’t take them (the local people) for granted because day to day issues within their communities are of interest to them,” he said as reported by The Star Online.

Wee was speaking to reporters du­ring a Chinese New Year open house by the Ayer Hitam MCA branch, at SJKC Yong Peng 1 on Tuesday.

He said the party would also start engaging with the people to educate them on their vo­ting rights.MCA was ready to face the polls and had instructed its 191 divisions and 4,000 branches nationwide to start strengthening the election machinery.
