A 34-year-old man was found murdered in his apartment unit at Pinang Court in Lebuh Sungai Pinang 1, George Town on Thursday.

The deceased Nurhisyam Nordin was found lying face-down with a cloth wrapped around his face with two deep stab wounds at about 1pm by his friend, who later alerted the police.

Police believe the deceased was murdered two days ago.

Northeast district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mior Faridalatrash Wahid said preliminary investigations showed wounds on the victim’s back and right shoulder, believed to have been caused by a sharp weapon.

Police are investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

“The murder weapon has yet to be found,” said Mior, adding that the victim was a businessman.
