Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) is now the official flight partner of Liverpool Football Club.
MAB and the English Premier League football club today signed a three-year deal for an undisclosed sum.
It’s CEO Peter Bellew said MAB is delighted to welcome Liverpool FC to the airlines family.
The partnership with Liverpool FC would dramatically increase MAB’s brand awareness, which would include LED and static board brand exposure at each home game at the Anfield Stadium, Liverpool FC website and co-branding opportunities, said Bellew.
Bellew added the partnership would allow MAS to leverage the club’s popularity in the region and China.
Liverpool is currently fourth in the Premier League.
Asked on MAB wish list for the upcoming 2017 Budget, Bellew said the government needed to allocate more money for Tourism Malaysia and introduce more tax incentives for those who built hotels and other accommodations.
Many parts of Malaysia are saddled with lack of hotels and bed-and-breakfast accommodations, tourist-themed restaurants and tourist attractions, he added.
