The Sultan of Johor has given the worst-ever dressing down to former Premier Mahathir Mohamad today, said Umno treasurer-general Salleh Said Keruak.

Salleh blamed Mahathir for bringing such public ridicule upon himself.

“And this is not the first time Mahathir has been given an earful by His Highness, mind you,” said the Umno leader in his blog posting today.

Earlier today, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Ismail in his speech at the opening of Bukit Kepong Emergency Gallery, slammed a former politician for interfering into Johor’s affairs.

The Johor Ruler described the politician of going senile and blasted him of forgetting his past.

Although the Johor Ruler did not mention the politician by name, many believe that Sultan Ibrahim was targeting Mahathir.

“It would be wise for Mahathir to heed what His Highness said.

“The fact that His Highness was forced to reprimand Mahathir shows that he (Mahathir) has gone beyond the boundary of decency where even the Johor Ruler can no longer tolerate it,” said Salleh.

The communications and multimedia minister said that Mahathir had now appeared unable to separate his personal grudge from the interest of the nation.

“Mahathir is bringing ridicule upon himself and he has only himself to blame for it,” Salleh said

The Johor Sultan has also advised the former politician to stay out of Johor government affairs.

“Your time is over, enough is enough, don’t interfere with Johor’s affairs.

“I know what to do for my people, the best business is to mind your own business.”

The Johor Sultan said previously the politician used to blast the opposition, but now he can sit at the same table with the opposition, seemingly had forgotten the past.

He said the politician once said that “Melayu Mudah Lupa” (Malays forget easily), but now it appeared he had forgotten what he said.

“Maybe due to age factor, probably he has gone senile,” said Sultan Ibrahim.
