Every department under the Federal Territories Ministry has been instructed to scrutinise the declaration of assets by officers to check corruption.
Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor the evaluation would be undertaken by the integrity unit in the departments under the ministry.
“I have asked the (ministry) secretary-general to ensure that the integrity units in the ministry, DBKL (Kuala Lumpur City Hall) and the Labuan Federal Territory review the declaration of assets,” he said here today.
Tengku Adnan spoke to reporters when asked to comment on the arrest of a DBKL officer last Monday over corruption.
He said the case was being handled by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and the ministry was extending its cooperation.
Earlier, Tengku Adnan handed over keys to 23 families allocated houses under the People’s Housing Programme-National Economic Action Council and DBKL Public Housing under the Baiti Jannati Programme of Tenaga Nasional Berhad.
He also handed over a RM42,600 contribution from the Federal Territories Islamic Affairs Council to 426 needy people registered with the eKasih system.
