Clad only in a towel and carrying a dipper, a bar of soap and a toothbrush, Jamal Md Yunos appeared at the Selangor State Secretariat building here today to “take a bath”.

The chairman of the Coalition of Malay NGOs claimed that his house had been without water for the past three days.

He arrived at the building, which also houses the office of the Selangor Menteri Besar, at 9.40am but security guards prevented him from entering the premises.

“My house has been without piped water supply for three days. I have not taken a bath because my house in Ampang has been without piped water supply. The nearby surau also has no water.

“I came just to take a bath. If I am prohibited from taking a bath (at the washroom) in the office of the MB (Menteri Besar), allow me to bathe in a washroom on the ground floor. If I have to pay, I will do so,” he said after being stopped at the main gate of the building. — Bernama
