Three women were shot dead and a man was critically injured in the US on Friday when a gunman opened fire in a busy shopping mall, local media reported.
Sergeant Mark Francis of the Washington State Patrol tweeted a picture of the alleged shooter, who was still at large, saying police believed there was just one gunman.
The suspect apparently left the scene at Cascade Mall in Burlington, in the state of Washington, before the police arrived. He was described as “a Hispanic male wearing grey.”
The male victim had been airlifted to hospital and would “most likely pass away,” Francis told reporters at a press conference, according to ABC News.
Police had initially said there were four dead.
Another woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the attack, which began at around 7 pm.
Francis said four of the victims had been found at Macy’s, a department store.
“We believe all five were (found at Macy’s) but it has not been confirmed if the fifth was yet,” he said.
