Ng Pei Ven pleaded not guilty to a charge of substance abuse at the Bukit Mertajam Magistrate’s Court today.
The 19-year-old made headlines recently for driving on the wrong side of the road along the North South Expressway (PLUS).
In the incident, Mohamad Fandi Rosli who was driving a Perodua Kelisa was killed after her car hit four vehicles at KM134 of the expressway near Permatang Pauh.
Ng was charged under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for consuming a dangerous drug, according to Free Malaysia Today.
Bail was allowed at RM5,000 with two sureties and the court ordered Ng to report to the Central Seberang Prai police headquarters once a week.
