“Ratu Naga” Syarul Ema Rena Abu Samah, who faces a charge for insulting Prime Minister Najib Razak in a Facebook posting, has been receiving monetary aid under the 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) programme.
But an unapologetic Ratu Naga has responded to her critics that she had no problems in picking up some cash from BR1M, a cash-aid welfare scheme initiated by PM Najib to help needy households.
“Tu duit rakyat bukan duit bapa awak. Ada masalah? (That is the rakyat’s money, not your father’s. Is there a problem?)” Ratu Naga posted in her Facebook in a response to her critics.
Syarul Ema’s cash-in on BR1M was exposed by a Facebook user under “Rosli Samat” account.
Rosli uploaded a screenshot from the BR1M website revealing Syarul Ema’s BR1M records in 2015.
Popular blogger Lim Sian See also shared Rosli’s posting.
BR1M is a popular initiative under Prime Minister Najib administration to give out cash-aid to households with monthly income less than RM4,000.
Ratu Naga (Dragon Queen) was charged in February for insulting the Prime Minister on Facebook over the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA).
On Tuesday, she was questioned by authorities for Facebook comments she posted on Rosmah Mansor, the wife of Najib.
Ratu Naga’s alleged hypocritical act is not a surprise as many detractors of Najib, Umno and Barisan Nasional, commonly known as Pakatuns, have had shamelessly collected BR1M over the years.
