Dr Uma thanked her parents, 1MDB and Mahsa in making her dream come true

A proud dentist shared her victory moments for made it through despite all the odds to become a dentist.

Today her friends can address her as Dr. Uma Yuganisha Ravendran.

In her Facebook posting which became viral and received congratulatory messages from netizens, Uma shared her hard work to strive and achieve her ambitions.

Despite achieving straight A’s in UPSR , PMR and SPM, Uma was not given any Public Services department (PSD) scholarship, matriculation or any other scholarships.

Uma was also a state hockey player once was offered to study in MRSM after her UPSR and PMR but gracefully declined the offers.

She continued her studies at SMK Sultan Badlishah, Kulim.

In 2009, her parents sent her for foundation in science in private university, where she really burns the candle lights to attain 3.96 CGPA.

“I started my degree in dental surgery in Mahsa university and my parents paid my first year tuition fees which cost RM38,000.

“As a daughter, I was very sad seeing my parents paying so much for my studies by sacrificing their own happiness.

“Fortunately, I received 1MDB study grant and Mahsa University scholarship.

“This was given for my good results in my foundation and achievements in sports at national level.

“I always thank god for this. Thanks to 1MDB & Mahsa.” said Uma in her FB posting.

Not only that Uma thanked her both parents’ love, comforted hugs and motivation.

“You’ve gone through a lot of struggle and pain. But I promise, I won’t let all that go in vain.

“I want to do justice every time you believed in me. I will grow up, to be the best I can be.

“Success is in my stride, because I have parents like you by my side. I have never taken any compliments to heart because deep down inside I know that all of them actually belong to you both.

“You both sacrificed your own happiness, just so that I could be happy. It may take a lifetime, but I’ll do everything to repay for what you have done for me.

“Thanks for everything Amma and Appa.” she added.

Uma also proudly shared that to have received her primary education at SJK(T) Ladang Victoria, Padang Serai, Kedah and proved that she also can achieve her dream.
