KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Pribumi) chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad expressed hope that the Registrar of Societies (RoS) will be fair.
Mahathir was commenting on a statement issued by RoS in which its director-general Datuk Mohammad Razin Abdullah said a directive will be issued to DAP to conduct fresh election for its Central Executive Committee (CEC).
“I think they can do what they like, but I hope they, the RoS, will be fair.
“The RoS has been fair to us. They should be fair to everybody,” Mahathir told reporters when met at the launch of Tan Sri Shamsuddin Abdul Kadir’s book at Nu Sentral, here, today.
Meanwhile, DAP national organising secretary Anthony Loke told the Malay Mail Online that an emergency meeting will be held tomorrow to discuss the party’s next course of action.
“We have to study the whole statement and then we discuss at CEC meeting tomorrow and then we will decide what to do,” he was quoted as saying.
Free Malaysia Today quoted DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang as briefly labelling RoS’ decision as ‘most ridiculous’. – MO
