Prime Minister Najib Razak in his opening Budget 2017 speech highlighted that for the past 60 years Barisan Nasional government has maintained an average of 6% Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
He also unveiled that for Budget 2017 RM 260.8 billion has been allocated.
It is an increase of 3.4% compared to Budget 2016.
RM 214.8 billion allocated for management expenditure and RM 46 billion for Development expenditure.
For economic sector it is allocated for RM 25.9 billion, Social sector (RM12.2 billion), Security (RM 5.3 billion) and general administration (RM 2.5 billion)
Najib also told that the government will reduce the fiscal deficit from 3.1% to 3% in year 2017.
The government is committed to implement the best budget through prudent expenditure amid the world economic uncertainty.
