PAS vice-president Idris Ahmad praises Prime Minister Najib Razak for giving an adequate allocation to develop the rural area in the Budget 2017 tabled yesterday.
The Bukit Gantang MP expressed that more allocation should have be given for higher education.
“I think the allocation for higher education could have been better to encourage more students to step into the varsity for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes,” he said.
When asked to comment on the opposition lawmaker’s uproar in the parliament, he said “that was not the proper way to protest”.
He said his fellow PAS MPs did not walk out as they felt it was not the right thing to do.
“There is a proper way to protest through Parliament. Whether we accept or reject, there is a procedure,” he said.
However, PAS Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar walked out during the Budget 2017 tabling on Friday.
When asked if PAS central committee would take action against the lawmaker, he said “No”.
“It is up to him if he wants to walk out,” he added.
