Prime Minister Najib Razak called on Malaysians to be “strong-spirited” and adhere to the Merdeka spirit in conjunction of the national day celebration end of this month.

Speaking before a mammoth crowd at Tasek Gelugor today, Najib said Malaysians should be loyal to the country and practice to hold strong principals and standards.

“The month of Merdeka does not only resemble the flag or ‘jalur gemilang’ but also the loyalty towards the country.

“Loyalty and love towards the country should be cultivated in every Malaysian’s soul.

“Jangan bagi misai kena bumi (don’t let moustache touch the ground)…Hold on to strong principals,” he said in his opening speech at Tasek Gelugor on Saturday.

Najib reiterated that his government policies are up to the standards and has been recognised by the world economists.

“The Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) government policy has been well acknowledged and praised by 35 top international economists.

“They have acknowledged our government policies and described our economy as the most competitive one in the world,” said Najib.

Penang govt policies nuisance and burden the people

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister also pledges to help the rakyat with more affordable homes and not pro-developer centric government.

"My government will continue to help the people to obtain affordable houses and we will not practise a pro-developer centric government.

“Water tariffs has been increased, sky-crapping buildings everywhere, overpriced affordable houses are indeed burdening the rakyat,”he added, hinting that Penang state government current policies are nuisance.
