You would imagine that a person in Muhyiddin Yassin’s position would be very careful about posting pictures of his RM2 million holiday on the internet.
His own party is up in arms about the matter.
Pribumi is going through turmoil even before it can celebrate its first anniversary and Muhyiddin is missing in action in Europe when he should be home sorting out the mess that his party and the opposition in general were in.
The way things are going the opposition is going to lose much of the ground it won in 2008 and 2013 and it is all because it was shooting itself to its own feet.
BN vs opposition in GE14
According to Singapore’s intelligence report, the opposition coalition might not even be able to win 70 parliament seats in the next general election if it does not pull its socks up.
The opposition needs to win at least 75 seats to deny Barisan Nasional (BN) its two-thirds majority in Parliament.
If not then BN will win back its two-thirds majority that it lost back in 2008.
The Singapore intelligence report says this might happen going by the current mess in the opposition.
The truth is Muhyiddin no longer cares.
He knows that Mahathir made a deal with Lim Kit Siang and that deal does not include him.
So why should he bother?
Muhyiddin knows that Pribumi was not going to do well in the next general election (GE14) and even if it does he was not going to benefit from it.
Mahathir’s future plan for Pribumi does not include his future as well.
That is why Muhyiddin no longer cares and decided to just go on holiday and let the party be damned.
There is only one man who can be blamed for all this – Mahathir Mohamad.
The biggest mistake Mahathir made was to appoint Muhyiddin as Pribumi’s president.
Back in 1990 Mahathir already said that Muhyiddin was his richest minister.
At that time Muhyiddin was the menteri besar (MB) of Johor while Daim Zainuddin was the finance minister.
Most people thought that Daim was the richest minister but Mahathir corrected them and said that the richest minister was Muhyiddin and not Daim.
1990 was the year that Muhyiddin contested an Umno vice-president’s post but won number five – meaning he lost since only the first three would get in.
Those three who got in were Anwar Ibrahim, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Sanusi Junid.
In 1993, Muhyiddin came back for a return match and this time he won first place with Prime Minister (PM) Najib Razak in second place and Muhammad Mohd Taib in third place.
In this second race Abdullah Badawi dropped to number four and Sanusi to number five.
Sanusi then accused Muhyiddin of spending RM200 million to win the number one slot while Anwar was accused of spending RM200 million in Sabah alone – RM500 million in total – to oust Ghafar Baba as the deputy president of Umno.
All the four winners – deputy president Anwar and the three vice-presidents – were dubbed ‘Team Wawasan’.
So, considering what Mahathir said back in 1990 about Muhyiddin and the corruption allegation that Sanusi made in 1993, appointing him as the president of Pribumi can be considered a most silly move.
But that is what Mahathir did.
Mahathir now realises it was a mistake.
However, he thought at that time that Muhyiddin could be his ‘Goh Chok Tong’ who will not be an obstacle to his son, Mukhriz, from taking over once the opposition had won GE14.
The miscalculation that Mahathir made is you need to win the general election first before planning who is going to be PM and who is going to take over after that.
You need to go out and buy your chickens first and not count your chickens before the eggs can hatch when you do not even have chickens to lay the eggs yet.
Mahathir, though, was so sure that Najib was going to fall and that it was merely a matter of time for Mukhriz to take over as PM.
Mahathir failed to listen to what I said in early 2015, which is: “Najib is going to remain prime minister until the next general election and beyond.”
Anyway, after condemning Muhyiddin, Mahathir appoints him as Pribumi’s president.
Yet they accused Najib of this and that.
If Najib was so bad that he needed to be replaced why were you trying to replace him with someone who since 1990 has been tainted by so many scandals and which you yourself had raised 27 years ago?
Muhyiddin’s sex scandal with Nika Gee is not a recent occurrence.
This has been going on for a long time since Muhyiddin was the MB of Johor.
Are you saying that Muhyiddin and Sanusi were not aware of this when a million other people knew of it?
Yes, you want to replace Najib because, according to you, he was corrupt.
We only have your word for it, though, and nothing has been proven thus far, other than the fabricated documents you leaked to the media and bloggers.
But the man you want to replace Najib with is, according to you, corrupt.
It has been proven by a statutory declaration that he was having an affair with a married woman although she was now divorced and it has been rumoured had since married Muhyiddin.
Muhyiddin not bothered
Muhyiddin’s appointment as Pribumi’s president demonstrated hypocrisy of the highest order.
You condemned this fellow and called him corrupt and then you made him your party leader.
The truth is Mahathir never intended for Muhyiddin to lead the country.
He just appointed Muhyiddin because it would be much easier to later remove him for Mukhriz to take over compared with another candidate.
Muhyiddin now knows that and on Dec 3, 2016 this was proven.
That is why Muhyiddin no longer cared and went on his holiday when he should have been home to sort out his party’s problems.
Those published holiday photographs were not a mistake.
Those photographs were done intentionally.
That was Muhyiddin’s way of saying, “Screw you, Mahathir!” – Malaysia Today
