TASEK GELUGOR: MCA publicity spokesman Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker today told Malay voters to be wary of DAP, claiming the party only wanted votes so that it could obtain power at the federal level after the general election.

Calling DAP “power-hungry”, he said the party was adopting a strategy to incite quarrels among the Malays.

“Just to get Malay votes, DAP is now working with (former prime minister) Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and (former deputy prime minister) Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

“This is despite the party’s leaders previously being full of hate towards the two whom they labelled as corrupt. They also accused Mahathir of ruling with an iron fist (during his time as prime minister,” Ti said at a rally here last night.

Also present were Tasek Gelugor MP Shabudin Yahaya and Penang Gerakan Youth wing acting chief Jason Loo.

Ti also said DAP’s support for Mahathir only showed its hypocrisy as they were now willing to be “strange bedfellows”.

Mahathir currently leads opposition pact Pakatan Harapan, which comprises DAP, PKR, Amanah and PPBM. – Bernama
