KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has called on all registered voters to plan their time to go to the polls on May 9.
Najib, who is also Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman, said voting was the right and responsibility of every citizen.
“Each of your votes will determine the future of the country and the next generation,” he said in a blog post last night.
The prime minister also encouraged all voters to read up on the process and what is required of them on polling day, such as the documents to be brought along and what will happen after the ballots are put in the box.
“To read more about all of this, please visit the UndiNegaraku website which provides details on the preparations before and during polling day, as well as frequently asked questions about the general election,” he said.
He said the public could also continue following his blog and study the BN manifesto launched last Saturday.
The Election Commission yesterday announced nomination for April 28 and polling for May 9 in 14th general election. Early voting is on May 5. – Bernama
