PENGERANG: Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin says Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim has the right to express his views on matters affecting the people.
“We should be rational and anyone who does not agree with Tunku Ismail’s views should not respond rudely.”
According to The Star Online, Khaled said what the Crown Prince said was valid and were based on factual incidents that happened in the state in the past.
The Johor Menteri Besar also said that Tunku Ismail’s statements were his own personal views and that it was the Johor Crown Prince’s prerogative to speak up.
“TMJ has the right to his opinion and views and on this matter, he was touching on past facts,” he said.
Khaled was defending Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim’s Facebook post, saying that the Johor Crown Prince was making a factual statement.
Khaled said this after launching the RM1.5 billion Pengerang Eco Industrial Park (PEIP) project here today.
Tunku Ismail made a Facebook post on Sunday defending an earlier post made on Saturday about the political situation in the country.
He said that he was only presenting a personal opinion and added that people have the right to voice their own views and to choose the government they want for themselves.
The earlier post on Saturday had attracted criticism on the social media platform.
In the earlier post, Tunku Ismail called on the rakyat not to be easily fooled and said that they must be smart and evaluate for themselves what was best for the state and country.
