GEORGE TOWN: Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng is expected to meet with Penang Governor Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas next week to seek consent on the dissolution of the Penang State Legislative Assembly.

Lim, however, did not specify a date of the meeting but said that a State Executive Council meeting would be held first followed by the announcement of the dissolution date.

“We will go by the ordinary process which is to have an Exco meeting first before consulting Seri Mutiara.

“The details will be announced soon after the Exco meeting and the legislative assembly dissolution date,” Lim told a press conference here today.

The mandate for Penang will automatically end on June 28.

In the last General Election, (GE13), the Opposition-led pact managed to retain Penang for a second term after securing 19 state seats; PKR (10); Pas (1) while Umno has 10 state seats.
