PETALING JAYA: The police is urging the public to help them find M. Indira Gandhi’s ex-husband and her daughter.
The Star Online reported Federal CID director Datuk Seri Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd said police are committed to the search for K. Pathmanathan @ Muhammad Riduan Abdullah and Prasana Diksa.
“This is in compliance with the decision made by the High Court in Ipoh on May 30, 2014.
“Various efforts have been carried out, including asking the public for help find the two through our press release on Jan 29,” he said in a statement today.
He urged the public to come forward if they had any information on the whereabouts of Indira’s ex-husband and child.
It was earlier reported that Riduan is still in the country, according to checks with the Immigration Department.
The Federal Court ruled in Indira’s favour on Jan 29, nullifying the unilateral conversion of her three children Tevi Darshiny, 20, Karan Dinesh, 19, and Prasana, nine, to Islam by her ex-husband.
On April 29, 2016, the Federal Court had ordered the Inspector-General of Police to execute a warrant of arrest for Riduan, who disobeyed the Ipoh High Court’s order to return Prasana to her mother after it granted Indira full custody of her children.
“The public is urged to not carry on in playing up the issue, which could lead to tensions among communities,” Wan Ahmad added.
