Penang undersea tunnel: MACC to bring two directors for remand today

GEORGE TOWN: The Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) has confirmed that two company directors having the title of Datuk will be remanded to assist in investigations on the Penang undersea tunnel this morning.

MACC sources revealed that the two individuals will be brought for remand at the Putrajaya magistrate’s court.

The arrests follow MACC raids on seven locations around Penang yesterday involving four government offices of the DAP-led Penang state government and three of the offices of the developer and consultants firms of the undersea tunnel project.

The Star reported that the anti-graft agency is expected to hold a press conference today to explain the spate of raids and provide updates on the probe.
