SHAH ALAM: The state Umno information machinery is advised to not be shy about spreading the successes of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to spur national progress in the uncertain global economy.
Umno Information chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa said there were efforts to submerge the successes achieved by the prime minister and Umno president by raising bad perception on his leadership by disseminating numerous false news to the people.
“There are quarters who seek to sink the success story of the prime minister and to replace them with negative stories as if the country was going bankrupt, the people have no food due to the pressure of the (high) cost of living as if the government is not doing anything whereas we know in the era of Datuk Najib numerous subsidised aid is given to the people,” he told a media conference before the Struggle 4All dialogue programme here yesterday.
He stressed: “The information machinery must be more proactive and don’t be shy about telling your story, tell the people about the success and contributions of the prime minister and the Barisan Nasional (BN) government.
Annuar said Umno members need not feel inferior about telling the story of this success.
The federal government headed by BN is among the best governments in the region in managing the economy and the people, he said.
On the programme, he said: “We are prepared to share and will not hide the truth, in fact we will share everything with the people. Umno and BN are present because they are picked by the people and will continue to serve the people.” ― Bernama
