SHAH ALAM: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali has refused to comment on claims by Tan Sri Muhammad Muhammad Taib yesterday that his decision to rejoin Umno was because the opposition did not fight for the Malay agenda.

Mohamed Azmin said it was not necessary to comment on any individual who had left the party.

“People come and go… the crucial thing is the struggle must be maintained. Those who remain must be committed to the struggle and I believe the struggle must continue,” said the Selangor menteri besar when met by reporters after meeting Kampung Tradisi Selangor village heads here yesterday.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who is also Umno president, announced that Muhammad, 72 was returning to Umno, five years after leaving the party to join PAS in 2013, and PKR two years later.

According to Muhammad, a former Umno vice-president, he felt his struggle with the opposition, especially PKR, since about five years ago, was in vain as the opposition did not champion the Malay agenda. – Bernama
