PETALING JAYA: Anina Saadudin and Datuk Hamidah Osman, key members of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Pribumi) have quit the party, reported The Star Online.
The news portal reported that Anina was disillusioned with the party.
The former Langkawi Wanita Umno leader also claimed there was cronyism and a leadership struggle.
She also claimed her sacking from the party’s presidential council via WhatsApp had been done without explanation.
“There was no black-and-white at all. At least when I was sacked from Umno, a letter was sent to me. Pribumi is even worse than the people they complained about,” she was quoted as saying.
She said she would start a non-governmental organisation soon to continue her political struggle.
It was reported that Anina was sacked from Umno after she openly criticised and started court action against president Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Meanwhile, the news portal reported that Pribumi secretary-general Datuk Dr Shahruddin Md Salleh as saying in a statement that it and its supreme council had agreed to Hamidah’s resignation as vice-president, Gopeng division protem committee chairman and as Pribumi member.
“PPBM respects her decision and records our highest appreciation and gratitude for her contributions to PPBM over the years,” he was quoted as saying.
