SHAH ALAM: Flares, slippers, chairs and water bottles were thrown during a chaotic incident at the Nothing to Hide 2.0 event organised by the Armada Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia.
In the events leading up to the chaos, a participant had questioned Pakatan Harapan chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad about the 1985 Memali tragedy.
The former prime minister proceeded to begin answering him but the participant then proceeded to fling a slipper towards Dr Mahathir, which resulted in several people immediately moving in to protect him.
The situation took a turn for the worse when chairs and flares were thrown resulting in people fleeing from the hall.
Dr Mahathir and other Pakatan Harapan leaders were then brought out of the hall and the programme that started at 4pm was brought to a halt after about 90 minutes.
Earlier, Dr Mahathir who had thrown a challenge to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to attend the programme, said Najib’s failure to attend was a sign that he had a lot to hide.
Dr Mahathir also challenged anyone else to debate with him on various allegations.
