KUALA LUMPUR: Malindo Air’s failure in paying airport taxes amounting to RM70 million proves it has breached practices, says activist Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim.
According to Malay daily Utusan Melayu, Tunku Aziz said this was also not in line with Malaysia’s Government Transformation Programme to ensure good governance.
He added that Malindo Air had breached its duty to Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) by failing to pay the arrears.
“By not settling the arrears within the time stipulated, Malindo Air has misused money that does not belong to it. This is an irresponsible commercial action,” he explained.
The former DAP leader was commenting on the issue of the airline company’s failure in settling RM70 million owed to MAHB, adding that it has to settle the amount within a month. – MO
