Social media was abuzz last night following the spread of several videos of a scuffle that took place at the National Transformation 2050 (TN50) dialogue with artistes with Prime Minister Najib Razak.

The dialogue took place at Seri Perdana in Putrajaya and was an initiative to engage arts activists in TN50.

Metrowealth International Group (MIG) owner David Teo was seen in the video speaking in an agitated manner, believed to be due to his unhappiness with the moderator, actor Rosyam Nor.

It can be heard in the video that Teo was attempting to address the Prime Minister, but was reminded by Rosyam to ‘behave’ as he was in front of Najib Razak.

Rosyam tried to placate Teo, asking him to utilise the 1-minute given to him to give his ideas.

Teo went on to address Najib, however, he was cut short when actor Sulaiman Yassin walked onto the stage and slapped him.

Astro Awani quoted television host Aznil Nawawi who was present at the event as saying that everyone in the programme was taken aback by what happened.

“Even the Prime Minister waas shocked. But Rosyam tried to handle the situation in a good way,” Aznil said.

Sulaiman and Teo were escorted out of the hall, however they made peace later on and were scene shaking hands.

Meanwhile Harian Metro reported Sulaiman as saying he did not feel what he did was out of line.

Sulaiman who is better known as Mat Over, the character he portrayed in the television sitcom Pi Mai Pi Mai Tang Tu, said he slapped Teo to teach the latter manners.

“I do not regret what happened because David was disrespectful of the Prime Minister and Rosyam as the moderator. As Malaysians, we must have manners and respect,” Sulaiman was quoted as saying.
