Ex-Padang Serai MP N. Gobalakrishnan’s has rejoined MIC, announced party president Dr S. Subramaniam in Sungai Petani today.
Subramaniam said the party was open to accepting former leaders back to MIC.
“They can help contribute towards the party’s struggles for the Indian community,” he said.
Formerly MIC youth secretary, Gobalakrishnan left the party about 18 years ago.
In 1999, he joined then PKN, which later merged with a breakaway group from PRM and formed PKR in 2003.
Gobalakrishnan quit PKR in 2011.
He won the Padang Serai seat under PKR ticket in 2008 general election.
But he lost the seat as an independent candidate in 2013 general election.
