The Global Content Exchange (GCE) or the cyber bourse, will witness the presence of Malaysia’s digital products in the world digital market which can be accessed online.
The platform, developed by the National Book Development Foundation (YPBN) will be the digital content trade centre and exchange, including of reading material, film animation software, cyber games, as well as computer and smartphone applications.
Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the GCE would give Malaysians the opportunity to showcase their creativity to the world, hence giving a major boost to the national creative industry.
“The GCE will collaborate with global marketing operators for online products and services, such as google.com, alibaba.com and amazon.com.
“Congratulations to TERAJU (Bumiputera Agenda Steering Unit) for making the GCE a reality by providing the initial grant of RM100 million last March,” he said in his speech at the National Book Award ceremony in Kuala Lumpur last night.
Zahid’s speech text was read by Education Minister Mahdzir Khalid.
At the event, 10 authors received the Perdana Book Award in their respective categories, including the ‘Best of the Best’ and ‘Lifetime Author’ awards.
Mohana Gill, who had won 11 international awards through her book titled Fruitistic, bagged the Best of the Best Award, while Syed Hussein Al-Attas was awarded the Lifetime Author Award (Politics). – Bernama
