Muhyiddin could end up with nothing

Apr 1, 2017
Muhyiddin Yassin tried to topple Najib and become the prime minister, but now ended up with nothing.

Perhaps it is because we are at the start of April that the name of former deputy prime minister (DPM) re-entering the conversation as a prime minister (PM) choice is DAP-led Pakatan’s way of playing an April fool’s gag (literally) on the people.

Let’s be serious; Muhyiddin is damaged goods.

His supposed indiscretion in another man’s flower bed will keep many from wanting him as their future PM or even their potential PM candidate.

Even if one could lay that indiscretion on its side, you still have Muhyiddin who has done nothing to demonstrate that he was capable of leading Malay.

Further still, he has done nothing to demonstrate that he can lead Pribumi.

Had Mahathir Mohamad not needed a shield to hatch his son Mukhriz political ambition (if they are in fact his and not his father’s), Muhyiddin would only be a footnote in the annals of political history; listed under ’G’ for greed!

Which is exactly what happened; Muhyiddin Yassin got greedy.

He fits the example of the dog that had bone in his mouth crossing a bridge.

The dog stops and sees a reflection of a dog with a bone in its mouth in the water and opens its mouth thinking it would have yet another prize.

However, the dog drops what it already had in the water and ends up having nothing.

Muhyiddin Yassin was DPM, but when he thought he could get the top position, he opened his mouth and echoed the chorus of lies against his leader.

As a result, Muhyiddin Yassin just like that dog, lost what he had and now like that dog has nothing.

He is neither here nor there.

Muhyiddin Yassin knows that he is the new Mat Sabu of both Pribumi and Pakatan Harapan; not really wanted, kept around to be used at the pleasure those who pulled the strings.

It is alleged that his own head honcho Mahathir bypassed him and made a deal for his son Mukhriz Mahathir to be PM and the ever beleaguered Lim Kit Siang to be DPM and finance minister, if Pakatan Harapan can pull a DAP election trick.

So what to make of Muhyiddin being named as DAP-led Pakatan’s top pick.

Some might say that Muhyiddin is just a red herring to test public reaction in the same way the name of Wan Azizah Wan Ismail was tossed out there for interim PM.

Or maybe Lim Kit Siang wanted someone else to be the whipping boy for awhile and Muhyiddin was served up.

There does not seem to be anything sane going on over at the DAP-led Pakatan camp so any crazy scenario is possible.

Many will be waiting tomorrow to see if DAP-led opposition confesses that Muhyiddin as choice for PM is its April fool! – The Malaysian Observer Blog
