Tamil superstar Rajinikanth has been invited to Malaysia by Prime Minister Najib Razak to shoot a sequel to the movie, Kabali, reported The Star Online.

This came following a meeting Najib had with Rajinikanth at the actor’s home on Friday where the prime minister was told a script was being written for Kabali 2.

“I asked Rajinikanth to shoot the movie in Malaysia. I said, after all Kabali turned out to be box-office hit. He is considering it,” Najib was quoted as telling Malaysian journalists covering his visit to India.

Parts of the movie were shot in Malaysia last year by the 66-year-old actor.

Najib had earlier uploaded photos of himself with the actor on Facebook and Twitter, saying that he had a warm and friendly meeting.

“I caught a 10-minute clip of the movie at Rajinikanth’s home,” Najib told the reporters.

Rajinikanth also tweeted a photo of himself with Najib saying:

“I am extremely happy to have met an excellent, friendly and warm person today … The Honourable Prime Minister of Malaysia @NajibRazak ji.”

The New Indian Express reported that the “informal” meeting lasted for an hour.

“It was a goodwill visit and I had invited them to my house. I am thankful he accepted my invitation and joined me for tea,” Rajinikanth was quoted as saying after meeting Najib.

“I could not meet the Malaysian Prime Minister during my shooting in that country as he was busy and had other engagements.”
