A PAS division youth wing has called on the party top brass to severe ties with PKR after Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali mocked the Islamist party in a tweet.
In a statement yesterday, PAS Subang youth chief Hanafi Zulkapli said he hoped that the party’s leadership would heed to the wing’s call.
Azmin mocked the party after both PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and youth wing chief Nik Abduh Nik Aziz said they were confident in winning Selangor in the coming 14th General Election (GE14).
“Azmin should know he is the menteri besar because of PAS. If not (PKR president) Wan Azizah Wan Ismail would have been the menteri besar.
“He should also realise that it was our election machinery that made him win in Gombak,” Hanafi claimed in his statement.
Hanafi pointed out that Azmin needs to accept the fact that PAS had a strong grassroots support.
Azmin’s sarcasm was akin to him shooting himself in his foot as the PKR election machinery was not strong anywhere, he claimed.
The public spat between PAS and Pakatan Harapan trailed after PAS refused to work with any parties that collaborated with DAP.
